THE PROCESS
THE PROCESS
The mission of BPG is to transform lives and provide innovative solutions through expert educational advice for students and families around the world.
We provide a platform for international community collaboration and cross-cultural exchanges that help to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world. By offering advanced education and skills development, in partnership with a wide range of US-based academic institutions and educational programs, BPG is able to fulfill this mission.
Beyond Performance Group (BPG) provides the foremost expert education counsel to families anywhere in the world. The vision of BPG is to fulfill the dreams of students residing outside the US who seek to increase their knowledge of American culture and the English language. After completion of a US program, students can then take their experience and degrees back to their home countries, helping to advance their careers and the economic goals of their communities.
Additionally, BPG provides colleges, universities, and educational programs in the US with a pipeline of carefully vetted pre-qualified individuals who commit to enroll and complete coursework as students in their institutions of higher learning.
BPG differentiates itself from other placement agencies by providing support to the student starting in their home country as they apply for a visa and continue through their entire learning experience in the US.
At Beyond Performance Group (BPG), we don’t just “find a school.” We architect the entire student experience from your first consultation all the way through acceptance, visa guidance, travel, arrival, and ongoing support — so families feel confident, secure, and fully supported at every step.
Below is our complete step-by-step process:
We start with a Zoom/phone call to understand the student and the family’s goals. This is where we create the plan.
We discuss:
Student’s age, grade, and academic background
Current country + school system
English level and any testing requirements (if needed)
Family’s goals:
Best-fit U.S. school experience (academic, athletic, arts, growth)
Long-term plan (U.S. college path vs short-term U.S. experience)
Preferred school type: boarding school, private day school, prep school
Safety priorities (campus safety, supervision, housing structure, transportation expectations)
Desired location: state/city preference, climate, travel distance, airport accessibility, community environment
Budget planning (tuition/boarding, host family, insurance, transportation, application fees)
Outcome of Step 1: A clear “roadmap” for the student — including the best school category, ideal location type, and budget range.
Next, we review the student’s profile in detail so we match them to schools where they’ll actually thrive and be supported.
Academic review:
Transcripts (last 2–3 years if available)
Any standardized tests (if applicable)
Strengths, challenges, learning style, and support needs
If the student is an athlete or in the arts:
Sport: highlights video, basic stats, position, level of play, references from coaches
Musician/arts: performance video, portfolio, awards, training background
Outcome of Step 2: We understand exactly where the student fits — academically and personally — and which schools are realistic + best-fit.
Now we build a shortlist of schools that match the student — not random options.
We match based on:
Academic fit (rigor, support, ESL options if needed)
School type (boarding vs host family/day school)
Safety and supervision (campus structure, student life oversight, housing monitoring)
Location & lifestyle (safe community, access to airport, climate, cultural fit)
Budget + value (tuition, boarding, aid possibilities where appropriate)
If relevant: sports program level, arts/music programs, training resources
We present families with:
A clear set of options (usually a shortlist)
Pros/cons of each
Estimated costs
Timeline to apply
Outcome of Step 3: A confident decision on the best schools to apply to.
Once schools are selected, we help families organize everything properly and professionally.
We typically collect:
Passport (photo page)
Official transcripts (and translations if needed)
Teacher recommendations (we guide who to ask + how to request properly)
Student essay/personal statement (we help structure and polish it)
Any English testing documents (if required)
Discipline/attendance notes if requested by the school
For athletes/arts: highlights/performance video + references
BPG supports:
Organizing your full application file
Completing school application forms accurately
Submitting materials on time
Preparing the student for any required interviews
Outcome of Step 4: A complete, professional application package submitted correctly.
Many top private schools require an interview (student and/or parents). We help with:
Interview prep: how to communicate goals clearly
What schools look for (maturity, commitment, academic seriousness)
Professional guidance on messaging (so nothing is confusing or risky)
We also manage:
Admissions follow-up
Additional document requests
Timeline tracking
Outcome of Step 5: A strong, confident presentation to the school.
Once accepted:
The school issues an acceptance offer
Family completes enrollment agreements
Deposit/tuition steps are completed (varies by school)
Then the school provides the immigration document for the visa:
F-1 students: typically receive an I-20
J-1 students: typically receive the required sponsor/school documentation (program-dependent)
Outcome of Step 6: Official paperwork is ready so the student can move into the embassy/visa stage.
We guide families through the visa process step-by-step so they feel prepared and secure.
Support includes:
Understanding whether the student is going F-1 or J-1 based on the school/program
Guidance for key steps (like forms, appointment scheduling, and required documents)
Preparing an organized “embassy-ready” document checklist
Visa interview preparation:
How to explain the school choice
How to communicate educational goals clearly
How to present financial sponsorship properly
How to answer confidently and consistently
Outcome of Step 7: Student goes to the embassy appointment fully prepared, with the correct documents and a clear story.
Once the visa is approved, we coordinate the student’s arrival plan and ensure safety and structure.
Depending on the placement:
Confirm dorm move-in dates
Required items list
School arrival instructions and check-in process
Host family placement coordination (where applicable)
Safety expectations + house rules
Communication plan for student and family
We also support:
Health insurance coordination (if required/needed)
Packing guidance + required school items
Emergency contact structure and parent communication plan
Outcome of Step 8: Student has a clear, safe arrival plan with supervision and structure in place.
We arrange and coordinate:
Travel timing that matches school check-in dates
Airport pickup / transportation plan
Safe arrival procedures:
Confirmed pickup contact
Clear arrival instructions
Backup plan if flights change
We make sure the student is not “left figuring it out” upon arrival.
Outcome of Step 9: Student lands safely, is picked up properly, and transitions smoothly into their school environment.
BPG stays involved to ensure the student is thriving, safe, and supported.
We help with:
Settling-in support (first days/weeks)
Communication bridge between family and school if needed
Guidance for challenges (homesickness, adjustment, expectations, routines)
Continued planning for future steps (college pathway, athletics exposure, academics)
Outcome of Step 10: Families feel secure because support doesn’t end once the student arrives.
Safety is built into every stage of our process:
We prioritize structured environments with supervision
We help families choose the right housing model (boarding vs host family)
We coordinate safe transportation + clear pickup protocols
We create clear parent communication expectations and emergency contacts
We ensure students have structure, oversight, and guidance — not just placement
